And now…
|
The first week he lived in the backyard. |
I’d
like to take this opportunity to introduce you to the apple of my eye, Mr.
Rutger H. Bunny. |
The second week in the backyard. |
|
Mr. Bunny actually was a neighbor’s
rabbit that had escaped one too many times.
My neighbors had gone on vacation and the bunny previously known as
Boogie was living in my backyard for about two weeks. I was finally able to talk with the young
girl that owned the bunny and explained to her that if she could not take
care of the rabbit without it escaping all the time that I would take the
rabbit and care for it myself. She
seemed keen on the idea only if I kept the rabbit for a few months. I had to let her know that this was not an
option. That if she wanted to give me
the bunny I would take care of it for the rest of its life. So I anxiously waited for a week while she
thought about it. The day finally came
when I knew for certain that she would not let the bunny go. As soon as I said this out loud my phone
rang. It was the young lady calling to
tell me that her and her brother’s were bringing Boogie over for me to keep! |

Mr.
Bunny is a Netherland Dwarf Rabbit.
Thus the name Rutger H. H standing for Hauer of course. As in Rutger Hauer the actor. I was forced into this choice of name by
the ever pressing Mr. Juizgax. |
|
Rutger is
approximately three years old with an expected life span of six years. I am hoping to have him for a lot longer
than that. |
|
|
What do
you see in these two pictures? A cute
little fuzzy butt!!! That’s
what!! |
|
|
One day
I heard about how you could get a harness & a leash for your rabbit and
train him for walks. Well! What a brilliant idea that was…WHAT?!? If you ever do get an older bunny that has
never been trained for a leash & harness NEVER subject him to it!! A leash is one of the most torturous
devices a |
|
person could
put on their rabbit. Mr. Bunny was frantic! He couldn’t run free! I was mortified at
the panic I instilled in my sweet little bunny. Although
he does look rather handsome in it. It
brought out the color of his eyes. |

Lucky Butterscotch |
This is
our roommate Lucky B. The “B” stands
for Butterscotch. Lucky B. is at least
20 years old. I was rather excited
about introducing Mr. Bunny to Lucky as Lucky had lost his brother Ducky Poo
just a few months before. |
Ducky Poo |
|
There
was a little distance during
their first encounter The usual, “Hi. How are you?” That sort of thing. |
First Meeting |
Lucky
and Mr. Bunny’s second encounter had closer interaction between the two. |
|
Second Meeting |
Ah...
Their third meeting however left little to the imagination. Run
Lucky Run!!! |
Where’s he going?!? |
|
In case
you are wondering about that basket ball… |
|
It is
Rutger’s bestest friend ever! |
|
|
As you
can see with Lucky being so standoffish, Mr. Bunny had to make do with what was
just sitting there in the backyard. The
Basketball. |
